As a credit union member, YOU are an owner of our cooperative. The Annual Meeting is just one way that you can learn more and get involved while enjoying a nice evening out.
What's a cooperative?
A credit union is a not-for-profit, member-owned financial institution. We were formed by one District employee in 1931 as a means for District employees to pool their savings and lend it back out to members who needed it. This was an alternative to big banks who were less likely to help average hard-working American families during the Great Depression.
We have remained true to that mission and are still dedicated to serve MUD employees and their family members. We are NOT open to the entire community which allows us to serve you and your unique needs while maintaining a family atmosphere.
When you make a deposit in your credit union account, we are able to make more loans to other District employees or family members. When you open a loan with us, the interest that you pay goes back to the members-we are able to offer new products, better technology and lower fees. We are people helping people and together we are strong!
Thank you for being a member! We hope to see you on April 12th!
